About Us
Welcome to Knot Your Average Bow!! I am Lisa Marsh, owner and designer. I have been making bows for over 18 years now. It all began as a part-time high school job at the mall. Now, it has become my passion!!!! After college (Texas A&M- Gig ‘Em!), when my daughter was born, I found myself making all of her hair bows because I could never find unique, original styles that did not cost an arm and a leg. That led to making bows for family and friend’s daughters too. Once the ball was rolling… Knot Your Average Bow was created in the Spring of 2004. I continued on the local market for four years with customers constantly requesting the creation of a website so orders could be placed 24/7. Now---- you see it ------my website!!! I pride myself on the originality of my designs. Back when I began making bows, we did not have instruction books or websites. I just played with colors and styles until I got them just right. I love creating new looks and color combinations as styles change. I do have to give credit to Little Can of Beans for her woven headband instructions, I would have never figured out how to weave them! But here at Knot Your Average Bow, you can purchase one-of-a-kind coordinating hair bows to accent your headband.
My customer’s biggest request was matching, sister bows - coordinated designs for all ages in the family. Moms were having a hard time finding the same bow that worked for all the ages in their family. I created my Boutique Bow section for just that - a variety of bow sizes and attachment choices. Most bows can be made large and small, but usually boutique style bows come in one size… not here- you can order them to your specifications and know each little lady will get just what she needs to complete that special outfit.
